The jar of latex (Colloquially known as "the jar") was an item in item asylum. Initially available in public lobbies, it was eventually made VIP server exclusive before being removed from the game entirely.

Function[]
The jar of latex spawns with a randomized color of latex within the jar. Clicking anywhere causes the user to throw the jar at the location they clicked, consuming it and removing it from the user's toolbar. Any players caught in the jar's effect radius will take 40 damage, as well as turning them into a latex creature. This increases their maximum HP by 50. However, latex creatures take extra damage from the bat.
Removal[]
The item was removed due to referencing the video game Changed, an infamous furry-themed puzzle/adventure game. The game has received considerable attention since its release in 2018, primarily due to the game featuring a variety of sexually suggestive and strong fetish-oriented scenes within the game and its storyline. As a result, the item would become restricted to private servers for a short period of time before being removed entirely.
Trivia[]
- This item is an obvious reference to Changed.
- The game became even more infamous as sometime in early 2021, there was a sudden increase of Changed-like games on Roblox. Most have since been deleted by the request of Changed's creator, but a few still remain.
- The item is still referenced via a loading screen message, being "Hey, do you guys still remember the jar of- never mind"
- The shopkeeper also references it, as one of his lines is "I heard about a jar of something that turned you into an animal once."
- One of the drawings that can appear in the picto lobby includes the jar of latex as well as a latex creature with the caption "We don't talk about the Jar of...". The text ":fear:"(sic) is written just above the jar. Another one has the caption "Dummy Sez: Never forget kids, we don't mention that jar ever again."
- It's also referenced in 3 of protest's messages.
- The throwing mechanics for jar of latex are likely based off the Jarate and Mad Milk from Team Fortress 2.
