Glary Utilities Portable

PC Optimizer Glary Utilities has a free and paid version. What is the difference between the paid version and the free one, we will consider at the very end of the article. The program is compatible with all versions of Windows, and for those who wish, and with the phone version on Android. Both 32-bit and 64-bit systems are supported. The program has an installable and portable version. A portable, portable version is created after installing Glary Utilities. As you understand, the portable version can work from any medium and on any computer. Download from the official website and install the Glary Utilities program. After a standard installation, run it. The main window will open before you, from which we will begin our review.

The main window of Glary Utilities

If the program interface is suddenly not in your language, open the Menu (menu), in its upper right corner, and select the settings (settings) – language (language). In the drop-down list, select the desired interface language. Here, if you wish, you can create a portable version – a menu – a portable version. The portable version, by default, is created in the zip archive on the desktop. After transferring and unpacking the archive, you can delete the installation and work with the portable version (the program is launched located next to the Portable folder, the Integrator_Portable file). Now let’s move on to the interface itself, and consider the main points of the program. On the left side of Glary Utilities are items: automatic maintenance, signs of privacy, deep cleaning and checking for updates. Items that are not checked by default in the free version of the product do not work. Here is one of the differences between the paid version of the utility and the free one.

Auto-start applications

In the middle of the window is a system boot timer. If for someone, the boot time of his system seems too long, click on the “Startup Manager” button and go to the appropriate section.

Auto-run manager

But this is already interesting. In the left part of the window, here are the programs launched at Windows startup, and in the right – detailed information about them. That is, by left-clicking any of your programs on the left, on the right, you will read specific information about it, namely usefulness and recommendations. Here, with the corresponding button, you can enable / disable auto-run. At first it would not be bad to find out what exactly you were going to turn off. But just for this, in the area of detailed information, there is a link “More information” clicking on which opens a browser window, with information collected by Glary Utilities users about this process. The opinions of users are of course different, but at least you will have information to think about. By the way, to speed up the launch of a system, a certain process does not have to be turned off. Sometimes it is quite enough to run it a little later than system files. To do this, select the desired program in the auto-run, right-click the context menu and select “Insert delay.” Start delay can be set from 30 to 270 seconds. Getting information about processes is also available in all other tabs: scheduler, plugins, services, and so on.

  • The one-click cleaning module in this program differs little from competitors. So, we’ll dwell only on its settings called by clicking on the link “options”.
  • The first item, cleaning the registry, suggests choosing the scan area, by default all components.
  • The second point, disk recovery – the choice of disk (s) to check. Here you can check off the correction of system errors and the restoration of bad sectors.
  • The third point, erasing traces – again offers you a scan area, system, browsers and plugins.
  • Fourth, erasing temporary files – offers to clean temporary files of the system, browsers and applications. Moreover, as in the previous case, all major browsers are supported, and not just IE.
  • The next item of Glary Utilities options is the scheduler. But in the free version of the product, the options for erasing trace at the end of the session or when turning off and cleaning with one click do not work.

Below is the ignore list for cleaning the registry, disks, erasing traces, finding duplicate files and empty folders, and fixing shortcuts. And here you can only remove the “applicant” from the list. It is added in the modules. In the next section, the context menu, you can determine which program items will be displayed in Explorer.

Attention! Please note that in the portable version of the program, the context menu, as well as part of the functionality, is unlikely to work, at least the context menu for sure.
