India Celebrates Axiom-4 Launch: Yuvraj Singh Hails Shukla's Space Milestone as Inspiration for a Nation

The successful launch of the Axiom-4 mission has ignited immense pride throughout India. Former cricketer Yuvraj Singh voiced the national sentiment in a moving message, celebrating Shubhanshu Shukla's historic achievement.

The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, which launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida this Wednesday, carried Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla alongside astronauts from Hungary, Poland, and the United States.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his congratulations, emphasizing that Shukla embodies the dreams of 1.4 billion Indians. In a post on X, he extended his best wishes to Shukla and the other astronauts for a successful mission.

The astronauts are scheduled to spend 14 days aboard the International Space Station, where they will conduct over 60 scientific experiments.

Speaking from the spacecraft, named Grace, Shukla addressed the nation with heartfelt emotion, stating, "Namaskar, my dear countrymen. After 41 years, we have reached space. It was a truly remarkable journey.”

Orbiting Earth at an incredible speed of 7.5 kilometers per second, Shukla proudly displayed the Indian tricolor on his spacesuit, symbolizing the nation's collective spirit. He expressed his hope that this mission would spark curiosity and inspire a new generation of Indians to explore the vast expanse of space.
