Definition of veganism

Veganism is a lifestyle choice that involves abstaining from animal products or by-products. This includes all food items, clothing, and personal care products. Going vegan means avoiding dairy, eggs, and any product that contains animal-derived ingredients. It also means avoiding products that are tested on animals. Veganism is more than just a diet; it is a lifestyle choice that has many positive impacts on both the environment and your health.

Vegan skincare and beauty products are products that contain no animal-derived ingredients or byproducts. This includes ingredients such as honey, beeswax, lanolin, collagen, and gelatine. Vegan beauty products are often labelled as cruelty-free, meaning that no animals were harmed or tested on during the production process. Vegan skincare and beauty products are a great start for those looking for natural, ethical, and sustainable beauty products. At Dust&Glow we are proudly certified Cruelty-free and Vegan by PETA.

Overview of the benefits of a Vegan lifestyle

Veganism has many benefits, both for your health and the environment. Eating a vegan diet can help reduce your risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. It can also improve your digestive health, reduce inflammation, and help you lose weight. Going vegan can also help reduce your environmental footprint, as plant-based diets require less water and energy to produce than diets that include animal products. Additionally, veganism is a compassionate lifestyle choice, as it eliminates the exploitation of animals for food, clothing, and other products.

Benefits of Going Vegan for Your Skin & Hair

Clearer, healthier skin

Going vegan can have a positive impact on your skin. Eating a plant-based diet can help clear up acne and other skin conditions, as it is naturally low in saturated fat and high in antioxidants. Additionally, avoiding animal-derived ingredients and products that are tested on animals can help reduce the amount of toxins and chemicals that can irritate your skin. Eating a vegan diet can also help reduce inflammation, which can lead to healthier, clearer skin.

Reduced risk of skin conditions

Another benefit of going vegan is a reduced risk of skin conditions. Studies have shown that eating a plant-based diet can help reduce the risk of psoriasis, eczema, and other chronic skin conditions. This is due to the naturally anti-inflammatory properties of fruits, vegetables, and other plant-based foods. Additionally, avoiding dairy products and other animal-derived ingredients can help reduce inflammation and the risk of skin conditions.

Shinier, Healthier hair

Going vegan can also have a positive impact on your hair. Eating a plant-based diet can help improve the health of your hair and scalp, leading to shinier, healthier hair. Plant-based foods contain essential vitamins and minerals that can help nourish your hair, reducing split ends and breakage. Additionally, vegan hair care products are often made with natural, plant-based ingredients, like our coconut-derived surfactant in , that are better for your hair.

Fewer chemicals and toxins

Veganism can also help reduce the number of chemicals and toxins that come into contact with your skin & hair. Many skincare and personal care products contain animal-derived ingredients and are tested on animals. By switching to vegan products, you can avoid these potentially toxic ingredients and reduce your exposure to harsh chemicals like preservatives, fillers, fragrances or silicones. Additionally, vegan products are often made with natural, plant-based ingredients that are better for your skin and the environment.

Conclusion

In conclusion, going vegan can have many benefits for your skin and hair. Eating a plant-based diet can help clear up acne and other skin conditions, as well as improve the health of your hair and scalp. Additionally, avoiding animal-derived ingredients and products that are tested on animals can help reduce the amount of toxins and chemicals that come into contact with your skin. Veganism can also reduce your environmental impact, as plant-based diets require fewer resources to produce than animal-based diets. Going vegan is a compassionate lifestyle choice that can have many positive effects on both your health and the environment.

If you want to incorporate veganism into your lifestyle, there are many ways to do so. Start by switching to vegan food items and personal care products like Dust&Glow. Look for products that are certified vegan and cruelty-free.

Additionally, consider swapping animal-derived fabrics for vegan alternatives. Finally, seek out vegan restaurants and cafes to support vegan businesses and connect with like-minded people. With a little bit of effort, you can make veganism a part of your everyday life.

Haircare Duo Refills - Dry/Coloured

Sarah R (Patea, NZ)

Love love this shampoo & conditioner

Love that you can refill. This combo keeps my normally frizzy hair super manageable and soft. It’s so nice to come across a no nasty shampoo and conditioner that actually works and doesn’t make my hair greasy too like others.

Since swapping over to this product my hair is so much healthier my hair doesn’t get greasy as quickly as it did, and having thin hair this means a lot!

Haircare Essentials Duo - Dry/Coloured

Shez (Tauranga, NZ)

Give it a go!

I love the concept of saving on the environment and washing my hair with powder dissolved in water! I bought the mini bottles first, knowing if I continued, I would use these as my travel bottles. I have also ordered these large bottles and the refills and love that I can get a refill which is good on the environment too. I like the little makeshift funnel provided, but you have to refill with patience as you do not want to lose any valuable powder.
It takes a bit of trialing as to how much powder to use and how to best lather it to get the most of it when applying to your hair. I always err on the side of less is more. The conditioner is my favourite though as I really enjoy the creamy lather it creates. Now on my 3rd refill and I will keep using.

Hi there! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review for our Haircare Essentials Duo. I'me so happy to hear that you love the concept and appreciate the environmental benefits. I agree, the mini bottles are perfect for traveling and the refills are a great way to reduce waste. Thank you for mentioning the makeshift funnel and the importance of refilling with patience, I am working on some other funnel options at the moment but good things take time ;) . I'me glad to hear that you're enjoying the creamy lather of the conditioner. Thank you for your continued support and for being a valued customer. Gaelle x

Powder Based Bodywash Sweet Orange - MINI

Shez (Tauranga, NZ)

Skin so soft

I have been using the dust&glow shampoo and conditioner for about 6 months and when I re-ordered my products I was sent this bodywash to try. The first time I used it I did NOT follow the instructions and would recommend you follow the instructions as it is a better way of using the product. ie. turn the tap off and lather your body. You get a delightful scent on the nose and it lathers well and makes my skin feel soft. I have a shower dome so do not get cold while the shower is turned off.

Refills

I’m onto my first refill order. I really enjoy using the powder shampoo and conditioner, I do have really short hair and they leave it clean and soft and the packaging is so light to take away for trips. No preservatives is the best part for me

Hi there, thank you so much for leaving a review for our Haircare Duo Refills - Dry/Coloured. I am thrilled to hear that you are enjoying the powder shampoo and conditioner, especially their convenience for travel and lack of preservatives. Thank you for being a refill legend and supporting our sustainable efforts. I truly appreciate your loyalty and hope to continue providing you with great haircare products. Gaelle x
