Legitimate websites have a consistent domain name that matches their brand or organization. Be cautious of websites with slight variations or misspellings of popular domain names, as they could be attempting to deceive visitors.
Professional design and layout
Legitimate websites have clear and professional designs, with properly organized content and functional links.
Contact information
Legitimate websites usually provide ways to get in touch with them. Check for contact information, such as an email address or phone number, on the website.
Use Trend Micro Mobile Security
Scan Website is a feature in Trend Micro Mobile Security for your iOS or iPadOS device that checks if a website is safe or dangerous to visit.
Enable Scan Website in Safari
- Tap Safari on your home screen.
- Tap the
to open the Tools pop up window. - Scroll down, then tap Edit Actions....
- Under Other Actions, switch ON Scan Website.
- Tap the icon beside Scan Website to add it on your Favorites list.
- Tap Done.
Check if a website is safe in Safari
- Go to the website you want to visit.
- Tap the to open the Tools pop up window.
- From the list, tap Scan Website.
Mobile Security will scan the website and display if the page is Safe or Dangerous.

Close the website.
If you landed on a malicious website, close it without hesitation. Tap the X button in the top left corner of the Safari browser or swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the App Switcher and swipe the Safari window away.
Clear your browsing data.
To remove any potential traces of the malicious website from your device, follow these steps:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Scroll down, then tap on Safari.
- In the Safari Settings, scroll down again and tap on Clear History and Website Data.
- Tap Clear History and Data to continue.
Run a security scan
Change your passwords
If you entered any passwords or sensitive information on the malicious website, it's crucial to change those passwords immediately.
