Prepare to suck up your envy
- by Gemma Smith & Gavin Lane
Kirby's very first game — Kirby's Dream Land for Game Boy — appeared in Japan on 27th April 1992, which means today marks 30 years since HAL Laboratory's loveable pink marshmallow first sucked up our hearts.
With the release of the marvellous Kirby and the Forgotten Land, the little guy hasn't been short of attention recently and some incredible 30th anniversary tributes have been flooding social media over the past day or so, including from Kirby creator Masahiro Sakurai.
We're fortunate enough here at Nintendo Life to count among our ranks one of Kirby's biggest fans — Gemma, our amazing Community Manager. She's got an extensive Kirby collection and for this most celebratory of days we asked her to take a snap or two of some Kirby-themed games, consoles, accessories and assorted items... and my word, she didn't disappoint!
Below you'll find a selection of our favourite photos. And don't forget, if you're looking to celebrate Kirby's 30th with more than just eye-meltingly lovely images, we've got some meaty Kirby coverage elsewhere, too:

Okay, time to sit back and let these epic pics massage your eyeballs...
Not bad, huh? How much more pink could we cram in this article? None, none more pink — that's how much. It's glorious!
Feel free to let us know your favourite Kirby item from those above in the usual place, and share with us your most treasured Kirby-themed possession. Happy Kirbday!

It's so beautiful. Everything just looks so properly organized accompanied by some brilliant pink filters.
It all truly does show how much someone loves this series.

I bought a pink 3DS recently along with a cute Kirby Plushie for the anniversary. My mates think I'm stark raving mad but to me if you like something go for it I say.
As for this collection here it's really nice to see someone share the same passion for the little fella. People have often made fun of me for what I like and said some horrible things which isn't nice.

Hope I don’t get in trouble for not knowing the official name, but I like the picture with the dog and Kirby. Very bright, colorful, and sharp.
Edit: is that a canvas? Or something else?

Gemma, seeing your Kirby collection makes me very happy ☺️. Not only do you have all those Kirby games in English AND Japanese, but you have a ton of unique Kirby merchandise!
I'd love to see all that pink and cute Kirby merch everyday. Awesome stuff!

@DreamlandGem I once believed that about Legend of Zelda... But I just had to stop. Link was no longer my 'link' to Hyrule, I was his to this world.
Beautiful collection though

Absolutely amazing and color-coordinated! But I must ask, have you found the elusive Kirby's Super Star Stacker for Super Famicom? That's a doozy to acquire, and I only found a copy myself because my cat almost died while I was vacationing.

My Planet Robobot nendoroid mecha, probably.
I do have more or less all the games as well, in one version or another, and I love my collection.

@NerdyBoutKirby I've got that one, cart only though, which is a bummer, but I can't justify a CIB copy for the crazy prices it's going for!
