Credit Score Education

Your credit score is used by lenders to decide if they’ll approve you for a credit card or loan, and is an indicator of how likely you are to repay debt. Credit scores are generated using information from your credit report and proprietary scoring models. FICO, used by 90% of top lenders and VantageScore, used by Credit Karma, are two of the top credit score models.

  • If you currently have a lending product with Redstone, your FICO score is available for FREE within online banking.
  • VantageScore is a credit score jointly developed by the three major credit bureaus and is also available for free, through Credit Karma.

Remember to review your credit report annually to ensure the information is accurate and correct any potential inaccuracies which may impact your credit score. You can get one free credit report each year at annualcreditreport.com.

Must be an RFCU® member to obtain any product or service. Must be eligible for membership and open a share savings account to join RFCU. A $5 minimum deposit is required to open share savings account and must be maintained in share account at all times. Other restrictions may apply.

RFCU does not warrant, guarantee, or insure any information, products, or services offered by or through 211/United Way, BALANCE, FICO, Credit Karma, or any third party. RFCU and these parties are separate entities.
