Best places to stay in Paros, Greece (2024)

A brilliant starting point for exploring the Cyclades, Paros is a gorgeous island base in its own right. With beautiful beaches, a fascinating history and rich mythology, as well as cracking cuisine, this is a fantastic destination for adventurers of all ages to discover. Whether you’re dreaming of a hip seaside hotel or a tranquil escape in the hills, our list of the best places to stay in Paros has it all.

Well-connected to the group’s other islands, Paros actually tends to be quieter, because it has largely been seen as a gateway rather than a holiday island itself. Our Gurus feel differently, and recommend taking the time to explore Paros’ lively seaside capital as well as its unspoilt interior. Parikia, the island’s main port, plays host to the superb Panayia Ekatontapiliani Cathedral, which has its roots in the 4th Century, as well as to striking architectural landmarks and myriad bustling tavernas. The town’s golden sandy beach is lined with excellent eateries, and has some great nightlife.

Head north to lovely Naoussa, a picturesque fishing village with plenty of traditional charm, or inland to Lefkes Olive, a mountain village framed by pine trees. To the south sits the fascinating Museum of Cycladic Folklore, which is also well worth visiting. Venture still further off the beaten track with a few days on tiny neighbouring Antiparos next door. Just don't forget that despite being quieter than its neighbouring islands, Paros is still a very busy place come the peak summer months. If you want to guarantee a room in one of the best places to stay in Paros in July or August, you'll need to do your research and book well ahead.

    For Boutique Chic

    • Mr and Mrs White promises a romantic clifftop escape, with impeccably appointed rooms and suites bedecked — as the name suggests — in white. Craft pieces and monochromatic black-and-white details add a sense of depth in rooms and shared spaces at this boutique bolthole. Expect two pools and a fabulous sense of seclusion.
    • Paros Comfy Suites is a smart boutique hotel set on a 6-acre coastal peninsula near Naoussa. Swish, minimalist interiors feel fresh and inviting, with clean lines, natural wood headboards and uninterrupted sea views. Restful, romantic and very private, this is a honeymoon hotspot.
    • Yria Island Boutique Hotel & Spa sits just outside Parikia. Brilliantly placed for exploring, this chic resort sits in soothing, bougainvillea-filled gardens with a refreshing swimming pool. Attractive rooms have private patios, the beach is within walking distance and there's a rejuvenating spa.

    For a Seaside Escape

    • Saint Andrea Seaside Resort, perched on stunning Naoussa Bay, has tastefully decorated rooms and suites as well as an expansive outdoor swimming pool. Sunbathe during the day or hone your water sports skills before sipping sundowners back at the hotel in the evening.

    For Luxury

    • Mythic Paros is an exceptional, adults-only resort perched on a hillside. The 40 individually designed rooms and suites have a real sense of bohemian style, with handwoven textiles and natural materials. Book a suite with a plunge pool or private outdoor tub for the ultimate honeymoon hideaway.
    • Andronis Minois has elegant rooms and suites with warm blue and terracotta tones set atop the classic Cycladic white. Sea-facing balconies are perfect for cosying up together, and private pools invite cooling dips. Unwind at the serene spa in the afternoons. A delight.
    • Parilio is a holistic design hotel in north Paros, with sophisticated interiors decorated in a natural palette of cream and earthy tones. One for well-heeled art aficionados, the hotel has a striking collection of paintings and curios, as well as a spa, restaurant, pool and private whirlpool tubs.

    TRAVEL INFORMATION

    • Fly to Athens International Airport, and hop aboard a ferry from Athens, or catch a connecting flight to Paros National Airport. Alternatively, travel by ferry from Naxos or Santorini if you're island-hopping in the Cyclades.
    • There's plenty to see beyond Paros' main towns! Contact our online partner Rentalcars if you would like to hire a car.
    • Expect hot summers, with temperatures reaching around 28°C between June and August, which is also peak season. For fewer crowds and cooler weather travel in April, May or late September, when you can also find great hotel deals.
