The Lake George Area is a beach destination. These sandy spots are on every lake in the region. Choose a small beach away from the hustle and bustle of town or bring your whole family to a larger swathe of sand. Make it part of your day, or the only reason for your vacation. It wouldn’t be a Lake George Area vacation without hitting the beach.
A day at the beach is a classic summer pastime. There are pristine beaches to swim and splash on every lake in the region. These Adirondack waters are as clean as they come, so go ahead and cannonball into the water. Your kids will love dragging their beach toys to the edge of the water and swimming in the summertime sun. Pick a large beach where you can plot out your own patch of sand or a smaller beach where you can enjoy a good book in peace and quiet. Forget about your worries and put your toes in the water. While it’s always important to watch your family in the water, many beaches in the region have lifeguards on duty to ensure the safety of your family. Many Lake George Area beaches are conveniently located near the main street(s). After a swim, you can put on your flip flops and walk to your local hotel or a waterfront restaurant.
