We have been on a journey for a few years now… renovating The mill into a coffee shop for you bonduel and all the amazing people who stop by! 8/29/2023 Beams. These box newels came from Alice (Robley) and Jim Mueller’s family farm in Navarino. Big barn beams. Now box newels in The Mill. Their Grandaughter, Amanda Korth and her husband Jacob (Bonduel alumni)gifted them to us knowing Keith would do something special with them to keep the history of not only The Mill going, but farms all around the area having their own little slice of history added to the masterpiece. Thank you for gifting us these. We appreciate and cherish things like this. Stay tuned for final project pictures of this 8/23/2023 Railings... Railings today. What I love about my husband most is no matter what, he makes time to teach our kids stuff along the way. Everything is a teachable moment to him for our kids. He’s so patient with them. Maybe this is the reason we’re not open yet.😉 But I’ll take the learning experiences for our kids over rushing and pushing these moments aside. Who knows what these experiences will bring for them in their lives. Hopefully all good. Our little Knox is our one that shows the most interest in The Mill. As you see, he’s right along the side of his dad. Progress. While teaching. 8/22/2023 Art... My first piece of art I purchased from a local artist, Sloane. Sloane’s beautiful piece will be featured in The Mill but this piece will not be for sale. I saw this painting and had to have it when her mom posted it. Sloane was a hard bargain, she did decide to sell it to me. So I won’t part with this piece. I’m not even a cat lover. But I LOVE this painting. The painting is a cat family that resembles her family🥹♥️🥹 Sloane will be hopefully selling more of her artwork at The Mill up for purchase as she feels like it. Be on the look out for her artwork and support your local artist. Artwork like this is priceless. 8/21/2023 Wallpaper... Takes a village to wallpaper a wall…. Not really. But company makes it go by faster. I enjoy decorating. Only without rules and not alway with the current trends. That’s the best part of this place. It’s old. She has no rules. It’s timeless. Crooked old building. Different size windows and doors. Nothing is the same. I think that’s what I love most about old buildings. Nothings the same. Thanks for the help ladies. 8/10/2023 Floors... Every detail matters. This floor had to be completely torn out upstairs. We wanted to keep the same mill feel. Not fall into a trend that will pass with time. But instead, keep a feel that belongs forever. We used some hardwood that we felt fit best. We sealed the main floor. The original main floor. All these things matter. Definitely when you wake up an old building and want to respect where she came from. The Mill, she’s awake. We wiped the sleep from her eyes, opened the blinds, gave her a little shake. She’s up. 6/1/2023 Ramp... When you’re renovating an old building all the details matter. You know once these doors open up many will come to see how we decided to redo this old building. Pressure is on! The decking we decided to go with is cedar. We felt it 5/11/2023 New Chair... Pete approves of our new piece to add to The Mill for your lounging needs. 1960 mint condition velvet lounge chair. It’s beautiful and soooo comfortable! 4/16/2023 Coffee find... When you know, you know…. For a lot of things not just your love life. Everything! Listen to your gut. Most cases it’s right. I met her at the farmer’s market in Shawnao last summer. I don’t care how crazy it sounds but, I loved her soul when I talked to her and knew we had to maybe reconsider our original coffee distributor we thought about using. Keith Fischer and I sat and talked with her for an hour today. Things she said and believe in align with us. They’re local, very small business. Started in their basem*nt. I like that kinda story. She has something about her. Things like “I wanna retire my dad” when she talked about their business. But yet, their picky white where they do business. It has to align with their visions and morals. It’s not about making just money. It’s keeping a creditable name for them. I love that! It’s her and her parents business. From Clintonville Wisconsin! Mile 22 Roastery Fresh beans 🫘 roasted for us daily and delivered as soon as we need them! Not much shelf life after roasted for Mill, Bonduel coffee. They use natural ingredients when there’s any flavor added like right now, I’m smelling the blueberry coffee she gave us. Omg 😳 smells amazing! Naturally flavored. Alicia Forsberg/ Mile 22 Roastery, Keith and I are so excited to have you as the taste of The Mill, Bonduel! Check them out! You won’t regret it. 4/10/2023 Start of Construction on the Woodcraft Construction LLC came to help frame the decking today. Joey and Chris from Woodcraft Construction are lifelong friend of Keith’s. They built our home approximately 7 years ago. Woodcraft Construction does great honest work. And….show up when Keith needs a hand even though they have no time to spare. We appreciate time given. We know time is very precious. Thank you. The decking will be beautiful when finished. Can’t wait for you to walk on in from it! 3/17/2023 Accent Wall... An accent wall Keith decided to do today. Otherwise it would have been drywall. Other side of this wall is the kitchen and washer/ dryer closet. This room will have retail in it and more seating. This room off of the main lounge area. We call it the “middle room” The wood is original flooring upstairs that had to be taken out because of water damage on a good portion of it. Some wood was able to be salvaged and will be used throughout The Mill. 3/5/2023 Ceiling... Beautiful ceiling going in today. Harley from, 5 Star Spray Foam Insulation in Cecil did a great job. Prices can’t be beat and they’re hard working Amish who always get a great job done in a speedy time! We highly recommend him! 2/17/2023 Passed Inspection... Inspections officially done today. There was a delay. Of course. Scheduled for another day on their end last week. But….. We passed!!! Now onto finish work and hopefully opening very soon!!! 12/17/2022. Two Year Anniversary of buying the mill.. Two years ago yesterday since we took this huge project on. I know most of you are anxiously waiting and wondering when this will be open. But here’s a run down of what happened since we took it over and where we are heading. Time moves much slower when you’re doing most of the work yourself. Cleaned out all the stuff inside left behind Took down walls and third floor The roof Paint on the outside Bricks fixed (I don’t know what the term is used) Bricked in holes from old doorways and windows (3 layers) New windows New doors Parking lot Grain bin repaired Mural Electric Plumbing Coffee bar framed Kitchen framed Bathrooms framed (3 bathrooms inside of here) Paint in the inside Photography studio in back insulated, new ceiling. Floor repaired. North facing brick wall replaced (3 layers of bricks) So, so much more that you m missing. All of this without a loan. We wanted to try to do this without debt. That’s tough. We sold our souls. Jk It has been a long two years. There’s a light coming. End of January inspector will be there. This involves theee other people and working with their schedules (WE energies, election, plumber) So needless to say, it was difficult to get that arranged. The support and willingness from our friends and family that have helped us is humbling. The work my husband put in this is crazy! Let me explain a little of what he does… He’s a police Sgt for his “real job” they were down two officers from on duty injuries. There wasn’t many days he could take off the last year. He coaches and runs Bonduel Youth football Coached baseball On Bonduel Bat and Ball board On our Credit Union Board Has 5 kids A wife that’s a huge pain in the ass Friends he always, I mean always takes time for, drops anything and everything to help them with any project they have and need help with. With all of this, he still is the best father I’ve ever met to our kids. True story. He’s an amazing husband. Somehow makes me feel like I’m special all the time. Somehow this year he won a very special award that isn’t given out very often if ever for police officers, The Distinguished Service Award. Meaning, every aspect of his life, he has surpassed excellence. Not just as a Police officer. It’s a big deal. I’m proud. And still, somehow, he is redoing a 100 year old building while making every other area in his life feel fulfilled. As I wrote this I was like, “Holy sh*t! He’s done a lot”( When is the mill opening? Soon. Truly. Soon!! Thank you for your patience and now maybe a little more understanding on why it’s not open yet. We too are just as excited to serve you and bring this building back to life. Thank you, to all of you. 9/7/2022 Plumbing Break... Long time loyal friend. Talented, honest, successful businessman. Taught me everything I know about plumbing. Performance Plumbing Services will always be my first choice for any plumbing needs. Thank you, Andy. Plumbing 🪠 in the works! Performance Plumbing Services, LLC 6/30/2022 Sign up. Doors put in. 1/3/2021 Wall Down... Progress report! The vision is coming to life with help from friends. We decided to take the wall down and make it open space in the lounge. I think it was a good decision! 7/10/2021 Keith had a busy day repairing brick joints, cleaning tar off The Mill and repairing broken brick. Preparing for the big week ahead! This will look completely different when you drive by in a couple days. Cleaning it up! Fresh look. Thursday is the start of mural day! Pray for the rain to hold off this next week. We have the lift rented till next Friday and need good painting weather! We’ll keep you posted.

About Us — The Mill Coffee Lounge (1)

We have been on a journey for a few years now… renovating The mill into a coffee shop for you bonduel and all the amazing people who stop by!

Starting from a crazy dream of renovating an old Mill with a leap of faith that it had “good bones”… through the goal of restoring and keeping what was once originally built. Many ups and downs, laughs, beer, and help from some AMAZING friends… The Mill was restored into what it’s next phase of life was supposed to be.

The Mill Coffee Shop + Clothing Store… with a side gig of an TALENTED photographer.

The Fischers are nothing but love for their family, and community. IFYKYK (If you know you know)! A blended family of twenty kids… ok just five, but that is a lot of kids. They have raised some wonderful humans that love God, see the value in serving community, helping others, and showing kindness with a little humor and fun along with it. (no they did not write this themselves).

Oh and they secretly love DOGS… or maybe not a secret you will probably find one or more dogs at The Mill, they are like humans so don’t be scared… they have names like Pete, Carl and the one that NiCole never posts about on Facebook.
