The 3 Musketeers really lacks something for me. I’ve been eating 3 Musketeers bars since I was a little kid, and it’s never been a favourite of mine. I can’t ever remember a time where I asked my parents to buy me one. Sure, if someone was offering one for free, say for Halloween, I’d gladly accept it and eat it with pleasure. It’s one of the few classic candy bars that’s never been a go to for me at any point in my life.
It could be because the nougat is a little over-whipped or light. I'm also not a big fan of the whipped nougat without any added texture, like peanuts or almonds. The taste is okay, in fact, the chocolate-to-nougat flavour ratio is almost perfect. The perfect blend of nougat to chocolate isn't easy, either. Bars as simple as the Three Musketeers can be easily messed up with a bad ratio of chocolate to nougat leaving the bar flavourless or over saturated in chocolate.
I wish I could say I'd some day gain a better appreciation for the 3 Musketeers, but to be honest, I tend to pass them by. I feel like there’s something missing in this bar, particularly with the texture and they just don't do it for me.
